Celebrating Wright: The life and work of world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright take center stage this fall and winter. Read on for details about Wichita's citywide celebration.
This November through January 2005, Wichita’s cultural and educational communities are coming together to celebrate Frank Lloyd Wright, whose unorthodox cultural attitudes and native belief in a democratic American architecture infuse the buildings he created.
The celebration features activities that range from straight-ahead lectures and slide presentations to garden parties, trolley tours and even how-to sessions for both kids and adults on designing and painting glass panels, candle holders and more.
On Nov. 14, 2004, the Wichita Art Museum opens the special exhibition Light Screens: The Leaded Glass of Frank Lloyd Wright, while at Wichita State the public is invited to tour Wright’s Corbin Education Center, pictured here, among other happenings.
