Ivonne Kamen Goldstein

In 2005, Ivonne (Kamen) Goldstein ’04 was honored by the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce with its Uncommon Citizen Award for the extraordinary effect her volunteerism has had in the Wichita community.

During her acceptance remarks, she joked that her life story should be called “Experiences of an Aging Diva in the World of Volunteerism.”

Goldstein’s volunteerism spanned four decades and included involvement in dozens of organizations, ranging from the Missouri Jewish Federation, to the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, to Music Theatre of Wichita. In 2004, at the age of 72, she earned a degree in women’s studies from Wichita State.

Ivonne Goldstein died Jan. 15 in Wichita.
