Collector’s Items
Dear Editor:
I’ve just about read both of the magazines (spring 2013 The Shocker and 2013 Final Four supplement) from cover to cover!
They are really good, and I’ll probably save them both as collector’s items.
I gleaned some new info about the WSU men’s basketball team that I had not seen before.
For one thing, Debbie Kennedy (WSU Alumni Association president and CEO) pointed out that there are very few head basketball coaches that show up for pep rallies before games.
I, too, am extremely proud of not only what the WSU basketball team accomplished in making the Final Four, but also for how Shocker Nation got behind the team.
It was an unforgettable run to the Final Four involving the cheerleaders, the pep band and the fans. Keep up the great work!

Dear Editor:
I just wanted to let you know the 2013 Final Four magazine was a great, beautiful publication! The pictures were all outstanding, and I really enjoyed reading the fan comments. I saw pictures in there I had never seen before!
Well done! Thanks.

Dear Editor:
What a wonderful magazine insert!
It’s a treasure of a piece with your usual first-class quality.

Collecting Alumni News
Dear Editor:
I generally read The Shocker magazine with special interest in the Class Notes section. I always wondered how you find out about the awards received, promotion given or just general information about a graduate.
Over the years, I have employed several WSU graduates but never thought about reporting their promotions or accomplishments. Just curious!

Editor’s Note:
We gather the information published in Class Notes all different kinds of ways. Alumni and employers of Shocker grads often submit news directly to us here at The Shocker offices and online at wichita.edu/alumni. Records department staff monitors local news sources for alumni news. Plus, the association subscribes to a national clipping service. On that, though, the news source must identify the individual as a WSU grad, so we know we miss an awful lot of alumni news, especially news from outside Wichita. We encourage everyone with news to share to email the editor: connie.white@wichita.edu.
