On the World Map
Dear WSU Alumni Association:
Hope many of you read the great article about the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State and the former Kansas Coliseum in the fall issue of The Shocker alumni magazine. “Full Throttle” has a wonderful beginning and ending story on our brother, Johnny Stevens, and our mom and dad. But the rest of the article should make every alum proud of our university. The Paris Air Show, NIAR, and this collaboration are putting jobs in Wichita and our city on the world map for aviation.

Mysterious Force
Dear Readers:
As our Wichita State Shockers kept posting win after win during their history-making 2013-2014 men’s basketball season, Shocker fans posted all kinds of fascinating signs and photos on Facebook – and on the alumni association’s Facebook page.
One of those images, dubbed the WuShock Army, found itself being digitally deployed in support of the WSU players whenever it seemed they needed a jolt of energy. The first deployment was by Dave Baker, and then many Shocker fans, including the alumni association itself, took up the practice, deploying the WuShock Army at least once a game, whether needed or not.
The WuShock Army gained fans of its own, and Shockers from near and far started asking just what, exactly, was this mysterious force – and how, precisely, could they get a WuShock troop for themselves. The alumni association, via its FB page, sought the answers, but to no avail. The image went so far back in digital FB history that its origin couldn’t be found. Which brings us to our plea to you, Dear Readers: Do you know what the WuShock Army is? And how we might get one of its troops?
