Charles L. Stansifer ’53, SPAN, ’54 M HIST, has retired from the University of Kansas after 42 years of service in the department of history. He served on the graduate committees of more than 20 MA and PhD students in the fields of Latin American history and Latin American studies. He lives in Lawrence, Kan.*

Bruton fs ’76, former WSU basketball player who became the second U.S. player recruited by the Australian National Basketball League, has been inducted into the ANBL Hall of Fame as a player and coach. He won national championships playing for Brisbane and Perth and later became the coach and general manager of the Canberra Cannons. Bruton has also been honored as a member of the ANBL’s 20th anniversary team, comprised of the top 10 all-time players. He lives in Canberra, Australia.

Randall “Randy” Smithson ’82, BUS, ’89 M PE, former WSU basketball player and coach, has returned as men’s basketball coach to Butler Community College, El Dorado, Kan., where he built the basketball program into a national power over 11 seasons, winning four Region VI and six Jayhawk Conference titles in the 1990s.
