Learjet Indoor Practice Facility
Nearing completion is the Bombardier Learjet Indoor Practice Facility,
a $1.2 million, 29,000 sq. ft. building adjacent to the west side of Eck
Stadium, Home of Tyler Field.

Weather conditions will soon no longer be
a factor in training sessions for Shocker athletes, as a $1.2 million, 29,000-square-
foot practice facility nears completion.

The Bombardier Learjet Indoor Practice Facility will primarily be used by the baseball, softball, golf and track teams, but will also be available to student-athletes from all Shocker sports programs.

The center is adjacent to the west side of
Eck Stadium and is being built by Martin K. Eby Construction Co.

Officials expect the facility to be complete before winter weather sets in. The climate-controlled facility will have a full infield with artificial turf and retractable batting cages.

The facility is the first part of a two-prong effort to upgrade Shocker baseball facilities. The second part of the project includes relocating the Shocker dugout, a new home locker room and moving WSU’s baseball offices. The thrust of the design is to tie together WSU baseball facilities in an area that provides convenient access to both the field and the new practice center.

The total project is expected to cost between $5.5 million and $6 million. To date, about 97 donors have contributed $2.65 million to the effort.
