D. "Dale" Richmond '55, speech, '65 m ed psych, of Right Associates, Wichita, is serving as first vice president on the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum's board of directors. He lives in Wichita.*

William H. "Bill" Wentz '55, mech e, '61 m aero, has received the 1999 College of Engineering and Dean's Circle Distinguished Engineer Service Award. He retired from Wichita State in December 1998 as Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Aerospace Engineering and executive director emeritus of the National Institute for Aviation Research. He lives in Valley Center, Kan.*

Herbert H. Coin '57, mech e, '63 m mech e, of Murdock Electric and Supply, Wichita, has been elected vice president of the Wichita Chapter of the Association for Facilities Engineering. He resides in Wichita.*

Gail N. Clum '59, admn, president and CEO of Kansas State Bank in Overbrook, Kan., has been appointed a regional representative for the Kansas Bankers Association. He resides in Topeka, Kan.

Nelson C. Gardner '59, chem, '61 m chem, the chairman of chemical engineering at Case Western Reserve University, received the 1998 Friendship Award from the Peoples Republic of China. It is the highest award given to a non-citizen. He resides in Cleveland, Ohio.

Wayne M. Hilburn '59, art, former president of Hilburn Communications in Springfield, Va., and his wife, Patricia (McKee) Hilburn '61, have retired and moved back to Kansas. They now reside in Valley Center, Kan.*

Charles E. Heilmann '64, m soc, who retired from WSU's sociology department after 34 years of teaching and who served for 40 years as judge for the El Dorado Municipal Court, was named Commodore of the Prairie Port Festival parade July 24 in El Dorado, Kan., where he resides.

Stephen L. "Steve" Clark '65, admn, president of Clark Investment Group, Wichita, is an appointee to the Kansas Board of Regents. He lives in Wichita.*

Carolyn D. (Patton) Conley '66, acct, '67 m acct, a CPA, is serving as president of the board of directors for the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum. She lives in Wichita.*

Hon. Paul Feleciano fs '66, a Kansas state senator, has been appointed to the Kansas Insurance Commission's newly formed Task Force on Natural Disasters. He lives in Wichita.

Bruce D. Ellis '66, bus a, '68 m admn, has been promoted to vice president and portfolio manager of Bank of America's Private Bank Division. He resides in Wichita.*

Dennis C. McCartney '66, mech e, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Griffith & Blair Realtors, Topeka, Kan., has earned the Coldwell Banker Previews Property Specialist designation. He resides in Topeka.

Judith (Burns) McCrea '67, art ed, '70 m art s, chairman of the University of Kansas' art department, exhibited 12 of her paintings in an exhibition entitled "Judith Burns McCrea: Latin American Experience" at Missouri Southern State College's Spiva Art Gallery. She lives in Lecompton, Kan.

Jackie N. "Jack" Williams '67, admn, who has served with the office of the United States Attorney for the District of Kansas, has been named U.S. Attorney for the District of Kansas by President Clinton. U.S. Attorneys are the chief federal prosecutors and law enforcement officers for the 94 federal judicial districts. Williams lives in Wichita.*

Ronald B. Davis '68, chem, '88 m comp s, of Physicians' Medical Clinic, Wichita, is serving as treasurer for the board of directors of the Delta Dental Plan of Kansas. He lives in Wichita.

Randall J. Duncan '68, psych, '73 m psych, has been appointed to the Kansas Insurance Commission's newly formed Task Force on Natural Disasters. He lives in Overland Park, Kan.

Larry Hatteberg fs '68, executive news director at KAKE-TV, Wichita, has been chosen as the 1999 recipient of the Grover Cobb Award for Broadcasting Service by the faculty of the Radio-TV Sequence in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. He lives in Wichita.

Julia A. (Casad) Dagenais '69, m eng, a writer and former public school English teacher, is state president of the Kansas Authors Club. She teaches at Friends University in Wichita, where she resides.

Gary S. Austerman '71, hist, '71 psych, of Klenda Mitchell Austerman & Zuercher, Wichita, has been elected to the board of directors for Wichita Festivals. He resides in Wichita.*

George A. Blume '71, mus ed inst, is in his 27th year of teaching in Phillipsburg, Kan. An instrumental music instructor, he also serves as district technology coordinator. He lives in Phillipsburg.

James R. Collins '71, psych, a social worker, has been sworn in as magistrate judge for Scott Co., Kan. He lives in Scott City, Kan.

Elaine L. (Peters) Brewer '72, mus p, is a harp instructor at Kansas University and is Lawrence's only certified advanced Rolfer, a specialist trained intensively to perform body work similar to massage therapy. She resides in Lawrence, Kan.

Ronald G. Chapman '72, acct, has been named vice president of customer services for Cessna Aircraft Co. He lives in Wichita.

Marilyn B. (Seiwert) Pauly '72, admn, of the Bank of America, serves on the executive campaign cabinet of the United Way of the Plains. She lives in Wichita.*

James R. Freeman '73, mus p/mus ed, '75, m mus per, a 25-year music teacher and band director, has changed tunes and is now executive business director of Lawrence, Kan., public schools.

Michael R. Meacham '74, pol s, '98 m ph, is director of certification for Connecticut's Office of Health Care Access. OHCA's Certification Unit is responsible for processing Certificate of Need applications and for maintaining a statewide inventory of health care facilities and services. He lives in Coventry, Conn.*

Nicki L. (Anzelmo) Skelton '74, el ed, '82, m isep, has received a doctorate in education from Southern University-Baton Rouge. She lives in Baton Rouge, La.

Edward B. Anderson '75, rt, is the respiratory therapy program coordinator and instructor at Seward County Community College, Liberal, Kan. He resides in Rolla, Kan.

Ruth A. David '75, ee, deputy director of science and technology for the Central Intelligence Agency, recently gave the commencement address at Cowley County Community College. She lives in Alexandria, Va.

John S. Hayworth '75, aj, a retired chief master sergeant, has been selected for induction into the Kansas National Guard Hall of Fame. He lives in Wichita.

Kathleen J. (Deppner) Brown '76, journ, is a winner in the National Federation of Press Women's communications contest, garnering two second-place awards, a third-place award and an honorable mention. She lives in Hutchinson, Kan.

Elizabeth B. (Bouchard) Eagleton '76, nurs, '80 m nurs, has been appointed vice president of patient care services at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.

Timothy V. Ladwig '76, art, teaches drawing, painting and other studio art courses and, along with fellow alumnus Bruce Plank '82, heads the art and design program at Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kan. Ladwig lives in Wichita.

Russell "Russ" C. Axtell '77, aeroe, has been elected to the board of directors for Wichita Festivals. He lives in Wichita.

Chad A. Clark '78, journ, formerly with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Wichita, has been named to head the McPherson Healthcare Foundation, McPherson, Kan.

Michael D. Dungan '78, aj, '80 aj, has been promoted to the Regional Inmate Systems Administator, Bureau of Prisons, North Central Regional Office, Kansas City, Kan. He lives in Liberty, Mo.*

Janice D. (Unruh) Davidson '81, nurs, '84 m nurs, has earned tenure in Fort Hays State University's department of nursing as associate professor and coordinator of advanced practice and nursing administration tracks. She lives in Hays, Kan.

Louis A. "Tony" Hurtig '81, aeroe, has been inducted into the Dodge City Community College Hall of Fame, Dodge City, Kan. He is a group engineer with Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, where he resides.

Martha J. "Marty" Metzler '81, pt, is a physical therapist for Rebound Physical Therapy in Topeka, Kan. She resides in Topeka.

W. David "Dave" Porter '81, admn, has been named vice president of economic development by the Ashville, N.C., Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Ashville.*

Karen R. Warner '82, acct, has been named regional controller for Journal Broadcast Group, which owns five Wichita radio stations. She resides in Augusta, Kan.

Carolyn (Peters) McGinn '83, mkt, of M.C. Farms, is serving as a Sedgwick County commissioner for the county's fourth district, which includes the Wichita State campus. She was elected in November 1998. She lives in Sedgwick, Kan.

Curtis L. Robinson '83, span, teaches French and Spanish at Circle High School, Towanda, Kan. He lives in Wichita.

Susan M. (Erickson) Smith '83, psych, '90 m admn, has been named vice president of human resources at Gossen Livingston Associates Inc., Wichita, where she resides.

Terence R. Goering '84, cs, has been promoted to vice president and manager of PC support in operations technology for Intrust Bank, Wichita. He lives in Newton, Kan.

Jeffrey J. Harding '84, aa hum, '86 gen s, who is an employment developer and locator for Venture House, Wichita, has received the 1999 Welfare to Work Small Business Association Associate of the Year Award for the State of Kansas, an award given in recognition of individuals who have contributed to the welfare-to-work initiative. He lives in Wichita.

Mark E. Heiman '84, fin, '89 m bus a, has been promoted to senior vice president in commercial banking at Bank of America Premier Banking, Wichita. He resides in Wichita.

Darren W. Moore '84, aj, of the Wichita Police Department, is a recent graduate of Leadership Wichita. He lives in Haysville, Kan.

Ronald D. Blackwell '85, ed, '97 m p admn, a deputy fire chief, has been appointed as Management Services Commander for Prince George's Country Fire/EMS Department in Largo, M.D. He lives in Bowie, M.D.

Ravindra "Ravi" Pendse '85, m ee, '94 ph.d. ee, has been presented a Dwane and Velma Wallace Outstanding Educator Award for excellence in teaching. An assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at WSU, Pendse also has received the asee Dow Outstanding New Faculty Award. He resides in Wichita.

Glen Piper '85, ead, is serving as superintendent of Hugoton Public Schools, Hugoton, Kan. He accepted the position on an interim basis after only a day of "leisurely" retirement. He had retired as superintendent of South Barber Schools, Kiowa, Kan., on June 30.

Nancy A. (Auger) Scott '85, gen s, '88 m p adm, was awarded the 1999 Alumni Award for Outstanding Public Service by WSU's Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs. She has served as a financial analyst II with the city of Wichita, city administrator for Maize, city manager for Chanute and is now director of planning and development for the city of Hutchinson.

Jon K. Wippich '85, art g, and his wife, Karen, have started their own business, Dotzero Design, Portland, Ore., a graphic design firm specializing in the creation of logos, corporate identity, packaging, annual reports and other promotional pieces. The Wippiches reside in Portland.

Sandra L. (Anderson) Carvajal '86, fin, has been named senior vice president of Security Investment Company, Kansas City, Mo. She lives in Shawnee, Kan.

Janice E. (Spurrier) Wilson '86, ee, of Murrow Engineering, Wichita, has received certification as a professional engineer. She resides in Wichita.

Max E. Cripe '87, m mus p, is a French horn player with the U.S. Marine Band, the nation's premier armed services musical organization. The band recently performed at the Clifford Hope Auditorium at Garden City, Kan., High School. Cripe lives in Bowie, Md.

Debra L. (Childers) Fieser '87, acct, has been elected a director of the Wichita Chapter of American Society of Women Accountants. She resides in Norwich, Kan.

Eric L. Sexton '87, man, '92 m p adm, director of government relations at WSU, has been appointed to the board of trustees for the Sedgwick County Zoo. He resides in Wichita.*

Donna L. (Pender) Hall '88, acct, has been elected treasurer of the Wichita Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants. She resides in Wichita.

Kathryn J. Page-Hauptman '88, sp/thea, co-founder of Stage One, a Wichita theater production company, has been named to the Mary Jane Teall Hall of Fame in recognition of her work in theater. She resides in Wichita.

Kathleen B.(Bradshaw) Sexton '89, aa hum, '89 eng lit, '92 m p adm, of the Sedgwick County finance department, graduated from Leadership Wichita. She lives in Wichita.*

Janet F. Nickel '89, m econ, is the director of the Center for Economic Development and Business Research at WSU. She resides in Wichita.

Carlos Nolla '89, psych, an attorney and director of the Wichita law firm Morris, Lang, Evans, Brock and Kennedy, has been appointed to Kansas' Governmental Ethics Commission, which enforces state laws on campaign finance, lobbying and conflicts of interest. Nolla lives in Wichita.

Dennis R. Stoots '89, acct, has been promoted to manager in the tax department of Grant Thornton, Wichita. He resides in Goddard, Kan.

Cathleen S. "Cathi" Wilson '90, m el ed, teaches eighth grade English, seventh grade computers and serves as the eighth grade volleyball coach at Mulvane Middle School, Mulvane, Kan.

Jeffrey D. Wilson '90, m ee, has been awarded the Chartered Life underwriter designation. He lives in Wichita.

The Rev. Rueben D. Eckels '91, gen s, was a guest speaker at the annual naacp Freedom Fund Dinner. He is the director of the Wichita ON TRAC program, and is also pastor at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Salina, Kan. He resides in Wichita.

Cynthia "Cyndi" Ellis-Stoll '91, nurs, '94 m nurs, is a full-time doctoral student in nursing at the University of Kansas, KU Medical Center in Kansas City. She was awarded the 1998-99 dean's academic scholarship, and was published in the Dec. 1998 issue of "Advances in Nursing Science." She resides in Olathe, Kan.*

R. Mark Ford '91, fin, has been named vice president of the retail lending and payment system's retail products division of Commerce Bank, Kansas City, Mo. He resides in Shawnee, Kan.

Gerald C. Fulwider '91, fin, is the executive director of the Colby Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, Colby, Kan.

Saeid Jannesari '91, m ee, '98 phd ee, is a lead test and design engineer for mixed signal integrated circuits at Burr-Brown Corp. in Tuscon, Ariz., where he resides.

Tyann R. (Wencel) Orton '91, acct, has been named assistant controller, administrative and financial services for the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita.

Kirstan J. (Harris) Rice '91, el ed, teaches kindergarten at Caldwell Elementary School in Caldwell, Kan.

Mary J. (Summers) Townsend '91, bus ed, has been promoted to research associate with WSU's Center for Economic Development and Business Research, in addition to becoming editor of the center's quarterly business publication, the Kansas Economic Report. She resides in Wichita.

Kori A. Gregg '92, acct, '97 psych, '97 m acct, was a member of a five-woman team that climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro over the summer. She lives in Wichita.

Barbara A. Hermocillo '92, el ed, teaches fourth grade at Hawthorne Elementary School in Kansas City, Kan. She lives in Overland Park, Kan.

Dianne S. Huneycutt '92, pe, received her master's degree in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She resides in Mt. Vernon, Mo.

Connie M. Van Zandt '92, j/ad/pr, has won first prize in the 1999 National Federation of Press Women communications contest for advertising photography. She lives in Wichita.

Marjean S. (Alderson) Bemis '93, bus a, has passed the Uniform Investment Adviser Law examination and has been designated as a Registered Investment Adviser Representative for the firm of Chapman Securities, Wichita. She resides in Wichita.*

Andrew D. Bishop '93, mus p, '93 mus c, is serving as visiting instructor for music at Albion College, Albion, Mich. A noted composer for ensembles as well as for film and television productions, Bishop directs the college's jazz ensemble. He lives in Ann Arbor, Mich.
