20th Annual Shocker Auction.

What a journey!

Led by Commanders Christopher S. Shank ’69 and E. George Fahnestock ’69, the 20th Annual Shocker Auction — aptly titled 2000FUN: A Shocker Odyssey — bravely went where no Shocker event had gone before.

The June 24 mega-event, held in Century II’s Convention Hall, proved to be nothing short of an odyssey of fun for the 700-plus adventurers who came out for space games, out-of-this-world food, silent bidding on truly wondrous galactic finds and an entire constellation of interstellar activities … all leading up to the one-and-only-in-the-vastness-of-the-universe Shocker Live Auction, with space auctioneer Lon McCurdy.

Stars of the Live Auction were Fahnestock, Shank, special guests Medical Officer Dr. Donna Sweet and Morale Officer Dr. James Rhatigan and a whole host of Shocker Space Cadets including Queen Odyssey Bonnie Bing and Future Man Bucky Walters. WSU President Don and First Lady Shirley Beggs stole the show with their presidential antics — and a song!

Watch for an Odyssey wrap-up in the upcoming fall issue of The Shocker.
