Warren J. Cortner '46, econ, a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in World War II who also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, has retired from a 55-year career in investment business, Municipal and Corporate Securities. He lives in Wichita.*

C. Gordon McCarty '57, chem, '59 m chem, has been re-elected to the board of directors for the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society. He begins his second three-year term as director-at-large this January. McCarty, an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, since 2000, retired from the Bayer Corp. in 1999 after working for 12 years as manager of the company's university relations program. David A. "Dave" Stallworth fs '65, Wichita State basketball great, conducted a youth basketball clinic along with Goose Doughty at the St. Mark Church of God in Christ this fall in Wichita. "I see these kids just running over with talent," Stallworth told The Wichita Eagle. "You like to see that talent develop. And it simply won't without a good understanding of the fundamentals."
