Robert N. “Bob” Partridge ’50, a prominent figure and attorney with Foulston-Siefkin, was born Feb. 27, 1925, and raised in Wichita. Partridge nurtured his passion for law at a young age, sitting in on court hearings after school let out at Saint Mary’s in downtown Wichita. He’d listen for hours waiting for his father to pick him up.
A distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army, Partridge left school and entered the service at the age of 17, serving with the 104th Timberwolf Infantry Division in the European Theater during World War II. He was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Croix de Guerre.
After the war, Partridge returned to Wichita, passed his G.E.D. and entered the University of Wichita, graduating with a degree in political science in 1950. He then attended Washburn Law School in Topeka, Kan., where he received his law degree.
Upon graduation, he accepted a position with the Wichita-based law firm of Foulston-Siefkin, where he practiced until his retirement.
A past president of the Wichita Bar Association and a former member of the WSU Alumni Association board of directors, Partridge was active in the community as well, serving on the Wichita Area Girl Scouts Council and working with the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce in government relations. He also was a member of the United Way of the Plains.
Robert Partridge died Aug. 22 in Wichita.
