(Ballard) Lusk ’38/55, homemaker, former elementary school teacher, Beech Aircraft secretary and engineering department librarian, retired Wichita West High School business education teacher, former manager and later president of the Lusk Co., a private real estate consultant and development company in Wichita, April 1, Wichita. In 1966, she and her husband set up the Lusk Foundation. At the time of her 50-year WU reunion in 1988, she noted that one of her hobbies was “helping West High students to attend WSU” through the establishment of a scholarship fund.

Terry L. McLachlan ’78, retired Kansas state representative, retired Boeing buyer and USAF Vietnam veteran, March 18, Wichita. During his campaign for the Kansas House District 96 (south Wichita) in 2006, McLachlan explained that he was running for office because he saw a “need that isn’t being filled.” His concerns included growing the economy, increasing alternative energy production in Kansas and funding education; he was particularly concerned about rising college tuition costs and deferred maintenance of university buildings.
