Virginia "Ginia" M. (Mueller) Schmoll '46, SEC ED, is in her 41st year of teaching, has worked 15 years in the retail industry and has 20 years of experience in community theater. She teaches at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she also lives.

Charles B. Douglas '49, POL SCI, retired as president of Thorsen Tool Co. in Dallas, where he lives.

Wilbur R. Elsea '50, S ART/P, exhibited paintings, along with artworks by Hugh Greer and Ed Pointer, in the showing "Three Friends" at CityArts in Wichita, where he lives.

William R. Pracht '50, GEO, a retired real estate appraiser, owns perhaps the only wetlands area left in Wichita and, at 80, is working to keep the land in its natural state. The land attracts wildlife such as deer, raccoons and geese, and Pracht says he is waiting to see an armadillo. He lives in Wichita.

Josephine "Jo" (Pace) Brown '51, EL ED, a former Wichita School Board president, participated in the Wichita League of Women Voters 85th anniversary celebration recognizing passage of the 19th Amendment, as a responder before former Kansas Sen. Nancy Kassebaum Baker delivered the keynote address. Brown resides in Wichita.*

David N. Farnsworth '53, POL SCI, retired WSU political science professor, is serving on the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission, after having been nominated by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. He lives in Wichita.*

A.W. "Bill" Dirks '54, EL ED, an AARP volunteer, appeared on behalf of the AARP at a town hall meeting held by U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Kansas, when the Washington-based lawyer who was supposed to appear got stuck in Dallas because of bad weather. Dirks lives in Wichita.*

Floyd Farha '55, CHEM, '57 M CHEM, is CEO for Chemical Products Inc. in Oklahoma City, Okla., where he also resides.*

Phillip "Phil" G. Ruffin fs '55, owner of Ruffin Properties, appeared on both "Access Hollywood" and "Entertainment Tonight" — when the shows attended the groundbreaking of his and Donald Trump's new Las Vegas hotel — and made a brief appearance on Trump's "The Apprentice." Ruffin lives in Wichita.

Robert L. Marshall '56, M EAS, was honored for his contributions to Central Missouri State University's safety science program with the dedication of the Robert L. Marshall Building at the Missouri Safety Center in Warrensburg, Mo., part of the 12-acre Highway Safety Instructional Center. The building houses classrooms and offices for the complex. Marshall lives in Warrensburg.

Nancy L. (Hainer) Rogers fs '56 is a retired office manager of the Great Bend Tribune. She resides in Great Bend, Kan.*

Sharon (Tarrant) Treaster '56, ENG L/LIT, is serving as district governor for Rotary District 5670, which covers 36 of Kansas' 105 counties, for 2005-06. She resides in Beloit, Kan.

M. Don Carriker '57, MUS ED, '68 M ADM, retired school superintendent, was guest speaker for the Caney Valley Historical Society's spring banquet in Caney, Kan. Carriker lives in Springfield, Mo.

Gaynelle "Gay" (Koci) Campbell '59, SEC ED, communications director for Everett (Wash.) public schools, is 2005-06 president of the National School Public Relations Association, after receiving the association's President's Award two years ago. She lives in Everett.

Gerald D. "Skip" Loper '59, PHYS, associate vice president and director of research administration at WSU, is a founding member of the Kansas Bioscience Organization board of directors. He lives in Wichita.

Bob G. Scott '60, M MUS ED, is co-owner of Prairie Pines and created, with WSU professor Catherine Consiglio '81, MUS P, the Chamber Music at the Barn series. The series has added several summer programs for young people. Scott lives in Maize, Kan.*

Judith "Judy" (Farrar) Feuss '62, MUS, teaches and directs the chorus at Northside Elementary School in Farmingdale, Long Island, N.Y., and is an organist at Manhasset Congregational Church. Feuss lives in Port Washington, N.Y.*

Susan (White) Laforge '62, EL ED, '71 M EL ED, is a retired Wichita public schools first-grade teacher. She lives in Valley Center, Kan.*

Karen J. (Campbell) Stupple '62, PSYCH, retired as a clinical social worker from Northville Psychiatric Hospital. She lives in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Warren P. Koeller '63, ACCT, president of Risco Inc., Lenexa, Kan., received the 2004 Outstanding Tiger Alumni Award at Cowley County Community College, where he has established the Warren Koeller Business Scholarship. He lives in Olathe, Kan.*

Robert E. Lee '63, MUS ED, '70 M MUS ED, has been inducted into the Kansas Teachers Hall of Fame in recognition of his more than 40 years of teaching high school music students. Lee resides in Hutchinson, Kan.*

Richard E. Huff '65, SP, is executive director of Irving Arts Center in Irving, Texas, where he lives.

David "Dave" A. Stalker '65, ACCT, is a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and has qualified for the company's Diamond Award. Stalker lives in Wichita.*

Marvin G. Weninger '65, PSYCH, a psychiatrist, has retired from the Peninsula Outpatient Center-Sevier where he joined the staff in 2002, after several years serving in mental health facilities in Alaska. Weninger lives in Knoxville, Tenn.

W. "Bill" Henry Hoffman '66, ENG L/LIT, has had his most recent book, Drums Along the Jacks Fork, published by Echelon Press. He lives in Fort Myers, Fla.

Jerold R. Millier '66, ACCT, is chair of the accounting department at Chaparral College in Tucson, Ariz., where he also resides.

Jay D. Keener '67, SEC ED '74 M EAS, a financial adviser, won the AXA Advisors 2004 Centurion Award for sales achievement. He lives in Wichita.*

Sharon L. (Havely) Mallory '67, PSYCH, '73 M PSYCH, researched and wrote the scripts for the summer Discover Historic Wichita Trolley Tours. She lives in Wichita.

Robert D. Plett '67, M MUS ED, is retired from his position as minister of music for the Mennonite Brethren Church in Reedley, Calif., where he lives.

Carol W. (Wolfe) Konek '68, M ENG, was honored by faculty and advisory board members of WSU's Center for Women's Studies for her contributions to the center, to Wichita State and the wider community. Konek resides in Wichita.*

John R. Lovitt '68, AERON E, a member of the board of directors for Appistry Inc. (formerly Tsunami Research), also serves on the board of East Bay (Calif.) Habitat for Humanity and on advisory boards at Wichita State and at the University of Missouri-Rolla. Lovitt lives in Pleasanton, Calif.*

Roland "Ron" W. Samples '68, ADM, '70 M ADM, is the developer of Clubhouse Villas at Wilson Estates in Wichita. He lives in Leawood, Kan.*

Roger A. Buller '69, ADM, Mid-Central Regional officer for A. G. Edwards, supervises 63 branches in eight states. He lives in Wichita.

Michael "Mike" J. Everhart '69, BIO, '73 M BIO, a Kansas marine fossil collector, tells the story of life in the inland sea that covered most of the state 87 million years ago in his book, Oceans of Kansas. Everhart resides in Derby, Kan.

Connie F. (Brown) Gamm '69, EL ED, served as chair for the Face of Hope Project, a fundraiser for the Wichita United Methodist Urban Ministry's homeless shelter. She lives in Wichita.*

Lester N. Goldberg '69, ACCT, retired from the U.S. Department of Housing in Washington, D.C., where he was an asset manager. He resides in Columbia, Md.

Wilbur Nash '69, SOC, retired as a broker from Walter B. Smythe & Son in New Albany, Ind., where he also lives.

Roger A. Reed '69, M SOC, has retired from Dakota State University, in Madison, S.D., where he taught sociology. He lives in Madison.

Novelene (Glover) Ross '69, S ART/P organized an exhibit at the Wichita Art Museum introducing Abraham Walkowitz (1880-1965), an artist described as the forgotten pioneer of American modernism. Ross resides in Wichita.

Jerry Smartt '69, M SEC ED, '88 M SPAN '98 PHD CDS, a professor at Friends University (Wichita), has been awarded the W.A. Young Award for Excellence in Teaching. He lives in Wichita.

Andrew "Andy" E. Gore fs '70 participated in a 40th anniversary reunion concert with the Moanin' Glories, a Wichita band that broke up in 1971. He lives in La Jolla, Calif.*

Troy S. "Steve" Hayes '70, ART/GD, is a member of the professional advisory board for graphic design at Northwest Missouri State University in Kansas City, Mo. Hayes lives in Overland Park, Kan.*

Scott W. Stucky '70, HIST, is general counsel to the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee in Washington, D.C. He lives in Potomac, Md.*

Karen A. (Sutton) Carr '71, EL ED, '75 M EL ED, retired from teaching after 34 years, 30 of them in a kindergarten classroom at Wichita's Hyde Elementary. Carr resides in Caldwell, Kan.

Craig A. Challender '71, M ENG, an English professor at Longwood University, has had a book of poetry, Dancing on Water, published by Pecan Grove Press. He lives in Farmville, Va.

Marsha E. Lytle '71, SEC ED, has had her first novel, Haggerty's Curse, published by Author House Publishers. She lives in Olathe, Kan., where she's a librarian at Spring Hill High School.

Joe J. Palacioz '71, POL SCI, '76 M URB A, has retired as city manager for Hutchinson, Kan., where he lives.*

Robert A. Prokes '72, MUS P, is a violinist with the Buffalo (N.Y.) Philharmonic Orchestra. He lives in Buffalo.

Diana "Diane" (Neuwirth) Torline '72, CHEM, '77 M PSYCH, '95 PT, a physical therapist with Via Christi Rehabilitation Center in Wichita, has been named WSU's Outstanding Clinical Educator of the Year by the physical therapy department. Torline lives in Newton, Kan.

Cynthia "Cindy" C. (Clarke) Carnahan '73, EL ED, of J.P. Weigand & Sons, is serving as a member of the Via Christi Regional Medical Center board of directors. She resides in Wichita.*

Ronald "Ron" L. Garber '73, M MUS T/C, a music instructor at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., performs with the vocal quartet On With The Show. He lives in Hesston, Kan.

G. Tim Holt '73, GEN ST a broker with Realty Executives of Wichita, was appointed to the Kansas Real Estate Commission by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. Holt lives in Kingman, Kan.*

James R. Janson '73, EL E, has retired as a production supervisor at Vulcan Chemicals in Wichita, where he also lives.*

Joe L. Norton '73, HIST, attorney and partner at Gilmore & Bell, Wichita, was appointed to the WSU Board of Trustees by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. He is a resident of Wichita.*

Kathryn "Kathy" M. (Pruessner) Peters '73, MUS ED, an attorney with the firm of Kutak Rock LLP, practices in the area of public finance law. She lives in Kansas City, Kan.*

Gary E. Curmode '74, PE '81 M AJ, '83 M URB A, achieved the Chief Fire Officer designation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. Curmode lives in Wichita.

Monica M. (Smith) Perez '74, ENG L/LIT, '74 SPAN, is a client service associate for Brandes International Partners Ltd. in Geneva, Switzerland. She lives in Nyon, Switzerland.

Jack D. Oliver '75, GEN ST, '80 M COMM, program director at Wichita radio station KEYN 103.7, won the Broadcast Professionals of Wichita Hall of Fame award. He lives in Wichita.

Gregory "Greg" B. Sevier '75, ACCT, an accountant with Peterson Peterson & Goss, Wichita, has been appointed by Sedgwick County Commission Chair Dave Unruh to a tax oversight committee to make sure the county arena tax money is spent properly. Sevier lives in Wichita.*

Kelly A. (Merchant) Carpenter '76, ACCT is the finance director for the city of Wichita. She lives in Goddard, Kan.

Becky M. "Asha" (Cushman) Bernard '77, PSYCH, is program director for The Girl Project at the Connection for Women and Families in Summit, N.J. She resides in Chatham, N.J.

Karl C. Elder '77, M ENG CR, professor of creative writing at Lakeland College, Sheboygan, Wis., has had a collection of poems, The Minimalist's How-to-Handbook, published by Parallel Press. He lives in Howards Grove, Wis.

Ronald W. Holt '77, M BUS ADM, is the assistant county manager for Sedgwick County. He resides in Wichita.*

Shirley B. (Chalker) Wells '77, SEC ED '88 M ENG, won the 2005 Distinguished Multicultural Educator Award from the WSU College of Education. She teaches high school English in Derby, Kan., and lives in Rose Hill, Kan.

Michael "Mike" H. Carriker '78, AERON E, is chief test pilot for Boeing's newest airliner, the 787, and will be command pilot for its first flight in 2007. He lives in Everett, Wash.

Susan "Susie" E. (Springer) Kliewer '78, NURS, serves on the board of directors for Northview Developmental Services, a not-for-profit organization that serves Marion and Harvey (Kan.) counties. Kliewer resides in Hillsboro, Kan.

Christine L. (Lorson) Downey-Schmidt '79, EL ED, '86 M EAS, a teacher and former state senator, has been appointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to serve a four-year term on the Kansas Board of Regents. She lives in Inman, Kan.

Lynbert R. "Cheese" Johnson '79, GEN ST, has been inducted into the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame. He resides in Riverdale, Ga.*

Donald R. Clymer '80, M SPAN, is director of cross cultural programs at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va., where he lives.

Jane C. (Pike) McHugh '80, ACCT, CPA and partner with BKD LLP, Wichita, has been appointed to the WSU Board of Trustees by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. McHugh resides in Wichita.*

Eric P. Mork '80, BUS ADM reached the quarterfinals in the Trans-Mississippi Golf Championship. He lives in Wichita.

Grant P. Rine '80, PHYS, '82 M PHYS, a radiation oncologist with Wichita Radiological Group, was awarded the Medal of Encouragement from Victory in the Valley for his efforts in supporting cancer patients. He lives in Wichita.

Nancy E. (Woods) Bacon '81, MED T, is assistant chief medical technician at Williams Newton Hospital in Winfield, Kan. She lives in Augusta, Kan.

Martin W. Berneking '81, AJ, has been promoted within the Kansas State Troopers to the rank of lieutenant. He is the assistant commander of the patrol's central communications in Salina, Kan.

Arlice W. Davenport '81, PHIL, '87 M LIB ST, The Wichita Eagle travel editor, is one of four reporters who won first place for community service in the 2004 Kansas Press Association competition. He lives in Wichita.

Robert P. Harmon '81, ECON, 96 ACCT, senior vice president, commercial loan at Intrust Bank, Wichita, serves on the board of the Kansas World Trade Center. He lives in Wichita.

Dana L. (McCoy) Luce '81, PE/R, is traffic director for the production team at Associated Advertising in Wichita, where she also lives.

Loretta "Lottie" M. (Koehn) Miller '82, M EAS, '83 S EAS, after 38 years in education, has retired as principal of Peterson Elementary School, Wichita. She lives in Wichita.

Ralph D. Heady '83, MCH E, of Wichita, is an Army National Guard major serving in Iraq.

Jayne E. (Manning) Maugans '83, SOC, '88 M SOC, is a sociology professor at Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y. She lives in Belmont, N.Y.

Bernard W. Sanders '83, M MUS P, had his new composition Spielmusik fur Carillon premiered June 6 during a concert at the University of Wurzburg. He resides in Muhlheim, Germany.*

Richard M. Schultz '83, M BUS ADM, '86 AA N SCI/MATH, is project manager of post-production support for Boeing in Huntsville, Ala. He lives in League City, Texas.

Phil R. Stephenson '83, BUS ADM, a former standout Shocker baseball player and member of the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame, coaches the Conquistadors baseball team at Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kan.

Lillian "Lilly Jo" J. Gattis '84, AJ, is the volunteer coordinator of Botanica the Wichita Gardens. She lives in Wichita.

Terence R. Goering '84, COMP SCI, is senior vice president of operations for Intrust Bank. He resides in Newton, Kan.

Anthony A. Jones '84, GEN ST, has completed his second season as the head football coach for Alabama A&M University in Huntsville. His team, the Bulldogs, posted an 8-4 season. He lives in Madison, Ala.

Regina S. (Moran) Ketterman '84, NURS, a quality and risk management coordinator for Via Christi Rehabilitation Center in Wichita, has won the Our Lady of Lourdes Competence Award (one of six St. Catherine of Siena Awards for nursing excellence). She lives in Douglass, Kan.

Ernestine W. (Williams) Krehbiel '84, M CSP, a Butler County Community College history instructor, serves as co-president of League of Women Voters Wichita-Metro. She lives in Wichita.

Gregrey D. Landis '84, BUS ADM, is CFO of Prairie State Bank. He resides in Wichita.

Michael C. McEnulty '84, GEN ST, commands the 180th Airlift Squadron of the Missouri Air National Guard and is serving his fourth deployment since the beginning of the war in Iraq. He lives in Platte City, Mo.

Mark L. Dennett '85, FIN, vice president of commercial lending for Intrust Bank, has been appointed to a tax oversight committee charged with ensuring that tax dollars are spent properly during the planning and building of Wichita's downtown arena. He lives in Valley Center, Kan.*

Janet S. Hamous '85, M BUS ADM, is president of the Peabody Historical Society in Peabody, Kan., where she also resides.

Mark A. Johnson '85, M BUS ADM, '93 M ADM, '05 MIS, is director of corporate travel for Cessna Aircraft Co. He lives in Wichita.*

Cheryl A. (Spomer) Lippert '85, SOC, is senior human resources manager of Elias Brothers Communities in Naples, Fla. She lives in Fort Myers, FL.

David P. Rundle '85, JOURN, a disabilities advocate, has received a grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation in a joint effort with the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of Kansas for the publication of his first collection of poetry, Briefcase Symphony. He lives in Wichita.

Andrea L. (Andersen) Scarpelli '85, BUS ADM, is senior vice president at Bank of America in Wichita, where she lives.

Michael "Mike" L. Shepard '85, GEN ST, shot a 36-hole total of 2-over, 144 to finish fifth in the Kansas Senior Amateur Golf Tournament at Basehor's Falcon Lakes Golf Course. He lives in Mulvane, Kan.

Martin J. Ward '85, M CSP, is an education professor at Texas A&M University. He lives in Corpus Christi, Texas.

James "J.K." Campbell '86, EL ED, '99 M EAS, is the business manager and director of operations for Arkansas City (Kan.) public schools. He lives in Arkansas City.

Terry L. Elliot fs '86, who owns BGM Marketing in Andover, Kan., has been inducted into the USD 332 Athletic Hall of Fame, Cunningham, Kan. He lives in Andover.

Mark A. Evans '86, M EAS, is superintendent of Andover, Kan., public schools. He lives in Wichita.*

Malinda M. Matney '86, AA N SCI/MATH, '88 MUS, a senior research associate at the University of Michigan, serves as vice president for colonization and membership for Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. She is the national president-elect, the first woman to hold this position. She lives in Ann Arbor, Mich.*

Kimberly "Kim" (Ehmke) Scanlan '86, M BUS ADM, director of support services for Boeing, is president of the board of Music Theatre of Wichita. She resides in Wichita.*

Casey M. Bachrodt fs '87, a Wichita developer, is nearing completion of an 11-building executive complex at the Waterfront (13th and Webb). He lives in Wichita.

John T. Frederick '87, MGT '92 M POL SCI, Boeing Co. vice chairman, serves on the board of the Kansas World Trade Center. He lives in Wichita.

John G. Freeman '87, M COMM, was awarded the John Mentor Citation by the National Press Photographers Association. He is a photojournalism professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., where he also resides.*

Xavier M. "X Man" McDaniel '87, AA SOC ST, '96 GEN ST, former Shocker basketball standout and NBA star, spoke to participants at the Ben Betts Bulldog Basketball camp in Orangeburg, S.C. McDaniel lives in South Carolina.

Ronald G. McHenry '87, M PE, is head women's basketball coach and an athletic academic adviser at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., where he also resides.

David A. Raehpour '87, M COMM, is CEO of Phonetics, a telecommunications company based in Wichita, where Raehpour also lives.

Charles "Chuck" W. Singleton '87, ADM, is president of the Special Assets Group at Republic Financial Corp. in Aurora, Colo., where he lives.*

Mary T. Chandler '88, MATH, a health actuary with Nationwide Insurance, where she has worked for the past 15 years, is a fellow in the Society of Actuaries. She lives in Westerville, Ohio.*

Leslie A. Duram '88, INT S, associate professor of geography and environmental resources at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, has had her book Good Growing: Why Organic Farming Works published by the University of Nebraska Press. She lives in Carbondale.

Brenda J. (Smith) Gray '88, JOURN, the director of university relations for the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, is serving a third term as a trustee to the Topeka-based board of the Sunflower Foundation: Health Care for Kansans. She lives in Wichita.*

Aaron J. Pirner '88, BUS ADM, chief executive of CAP Carpet Inc. in Wichita, is chairman of the board of the World Floor Covering Association. He resides in Wichita.

Brian W. Weide '88, PERS ADM, is senior vice president and product development manager for Gold Bank in Kansas City, Mo. He lives in Shawnee Mission, Kan.

Alan Burkett '89, HC ADM, is assistant vice president for marketing at Prairie State Bank in Augusta, Kan. He lives in Wichita.

Mark S. Flickinger '89, S ART/P, an instructor at Cowley County Community College, has received an Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organization Development based in Austin, Texas. Flickinger teaches and lives in Arkansas City, Kan.

Michael J. Gann '89, GENT ST, is stationed in Iraq as a member of the Marine Corps. He lives in Fayetteville, N.C.

Nancy L. (Lewis) Ballinger '90, NURS, '04 M NURS, is an advanced registered nurse practitioner with Family & Children Community Services at COMCARE of Sedgwick County. She lives in Wichita.
