Tue., Mar. 18; 7:30 a.m. — Arizona Shocker Open, Dobson Ranch Golf Course, Mesa, Ariz. Vic Heckart '62 and other Phoenix-area alumni invite alumni and supporters to tee off with fellow Shockers at this annual tournament, which will be played on greens twice voted "Best Public Golf Course." Class of 1953 Reunion
Thu.-Sat., May 15-17 — University of Wichita Class of 1953 50-Year Reunion, on the campus of Wichita State University. Activities include a welcome reception, campus tours, class brunch, commencement ceremonies and a special luncheon during which all returning graduates will be inducted into WSU's 50-Year Club and awarded commemorative medallions. Cook the Cat
Some 300 Shocker fans gathered to "cook the cat" during a rally Dec. 14 before the Wichita State vs. Kansas State men's basketball showdown at the Kansas Coliseum. Sad to say, the Wildcats bested the Shockers, but that hasn't dampened alumni plans for next year's intrastate rivalry.
