After a stiff morning wind scattered the clouds and then died down a bit, players on the 25 teams vying for top honors in the 2014 Shocker Open enjoyed a great day of golf Thursday, Sept. 18 at Willowbend Golf Club in Wichita.

Player and sponsor participation in the tournament helped raise funds that have been added into the alumni association’s scholarship coffers for deserving Wichita State students. “This year’s Shocker Open brought in over $1,000 for scholarships,” reports Ashlee Baysinger ’12, the association staffer who took the lead in working with committee members who organized the 2014 tournament.
