The Shockers celebrate their sweep of the Indiana State Sycamores, 25-10, 25-15, 25-15, in regular season play Nov. 8 at Charles Koch Arena. Wichita State hit .541 as a team for the match, which ranks second on WSU’s all-time single match hitting percentage list.

The Shockers opened the 2013 season with a No. 24 ranking and an Aug. 30 win over North Dakota State. But an Aug. 31 loss to unranked Arizona State and later defeats by No. 7 Hawaii and No. 23 Creighton dropped Wichita State out of national ranking.

As the regular season progressed, the Shockers, who were picked first in the 2013 MVC preseason coaches poll, cycled in and out of the top spot in the conference. Coming off an exciting four-set win – 19-25, 25-14, 25-19 and 26-24 – over Illinois State on Nov. 9 at home in Charles Koch Arena, the Shockers stand atop the Valley standings with a 12-3 conference record. Northern Iowa, 11-3, is in second place, followed by Missouri State, 10-5, in the third position.

The Nov. 9 WSU versus ISU game was Senior Night with Ashley Andrade, Chelsea Feekin, Elizabeth Field and Sam Sanders receiving special recognition.

Wichita State, which is 23-6 overall, has three more regular-season games before heading into the MVC Tournament, which is slated from Nov. 28 through Nov. 30 at Wichita.
