All-Years Football Reunion

Shocker football players were invited back to campus for an all-years reunion June 13-14. Former offensive guard Jay Hull '83 of Dallas, who spearheaded the player-organized reunion held at Wichita State and hosted by the alumni association on May 15-16, 2009, again led the volunteer organizing of reunion activities, which are set to kick off with a Friday evening Welcome Dinner at Shocker Grill & Lanes in the newly renovated Rhatigan Student Center.

Saturday's schedule of events includes golf at the university's Braeburn Golf Course, a campus tour that will begin at the Marcus Welcome Center, which will also be the site of a barbecue luncheon for the former players, their guests and other university attendees. A formal dinner celebration Saturday night is planned as the key highlight of the reunion. To be held in the Preferred Health Systems Multipurpose Center at Charles Koch Arena, the formal program will feature special awards and remarks by former players.

Among the commemorative items reunion attendees will be given is the alumni association's Endzone to Endzone: Celebrating Shocker Football, a timeline and history of football at Wichita State. In addition, information and photographs will be collected at the reunion for the compilation of a Memory Book, complete with participating player bios, that will be produced and distributed at a later date.
