Greek Life at WSU
The Greek community at Wichita State is full of brotherhood and sisterhood, tradition and pride. From participating in Hippodrome to Shocktoberfest events and intramurals, Greeks know how to show school spirit. They always have! Greek Awards
7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 — WSU Greek Awards Program, during which 2014 recipients will be announced, WSU Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Each year, members of Wichita State’s Greek community are honored for their accomplishments and recognized for their service.
Shock the Yard
Saturday, April 25, 2015 — Midwest Step Show: Shock the Yard. Hosted by the Multicultural Greek Council, this sixth annual competition will feature teams showcasing their stepping, a form of dance in which participants produce rhythm and sound through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word and hand claps.
Man and Woman of the Year
Matthew Conklin, president of Phi Delta Theta, is Wichita State’s 2014 Man of the Year. A senior majoring in economics and history, Conklin also serves as president of the Student Government Association.
Whitney Wilson, a member of Delta Gamma, is 2014 Woman of the Year. A senior majoring in dental hygiene, Wilson is treasurer of the Panhellenic Council.
Man and Woman of the Year scholarships are awarded to outstanding students who have shown exemplary leadership, involvement and service to both university and Wichita communities.
