Girls on the Run

Greek News

Members of Wichita State’s Gamma Phi Beta hosted their inaugural Gamma Phive-K on Saturday, Oct. 18. The on-campus run was a benefit for Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching life skills to young girls through interactive lessons and running games.

Girls on the Run emphasizes physical activity, and helps girls in 3rd through 8th grades prepare physically and emotionally to complete a celebratory 5K run. “Our event raised over $6,400 and had over 350 participants,” reports Mattie Mae Milligan, philanthropy chairwoman for Gamma Phi Beta.

The sorority also supports Camp Fire and Heartspring.
