Charles Koch Arena will once again be the place to be for a blockbuster evening of Shocker fun, food and entertainment. The second annual Rockin’ the Roundhouse event is slated for Sat., Nov. 5. Doors open at 6 p.m. The proceeds of this premier social event will provide assistance to many of the Wichita State athletic department and alumni association programs, including student and student-athlete scholarships.

Attendees will be treated to food from a smorgasbord of offerings from 30 of Wichita’s restaurants, an array of diverse music and entertainment — plus silent and live auctions featuring many unique packages. Among the highlighted items from the live auction are a hot tub, golf packages and a trip to Los Angeles for the finale of CBS’s “Survivor” series, as well as many other fantastic items.

There are several improvements over last year’s event, notably reserved table seating on the floor of the arena for the live auction, additional seating in the silent auction area and bistro tables throughout the concourse.

“This year’s Rockin’ the Roundhouse will be an event that no one in Wichita will want to miss,” says WSU Director of Athletics Jim Schaus. “It’s more fun than a barrel of WuShocks, with great food, music, celebrities, auction items and expanded seating — all in one of the most unique marquee events in the city. It supports a great cause, but you don’t have to be a WSU supporter to join in on the fun, just love to have a great time!”

WSU Alumni Association Executive Director Debbie Kennedy invites everyone to come out “for a rollickin’ good Shocker of a time!”

Tickets to Rockin’ the Roundhouse are $85 ($60 is tax-deductible) and available online at www.RnRWSU.com.
