President's Corner

BY ROSS HOLLANDER '73

Fellow Shockers:

One of the most meaningful aspects of serving as president of the alumni association is working on so many different projects with so many different people — people of all ages, of all professions; students, alumni, faculty members, university administrators and association staff.

Perhaps what has impressed me the most this year is that no matter how different we are, we work extraordinarily well together. From rallying around our athletic teams, to celebrating our alumni award honorees, to ever increasing the association’s scholarship funding, we work together so well because of our common bond. We’re all proud Shockers.

Key within this diverse group of Shockers are those who serve with me on the board of this organization. In this last president’s message of mine, I want to thank them for their service, their time and their support.

I especially want to note the contributions of time and talent made by Debbie Kennedy and the board officers who helped make this past year such a success: Tammy Allen, Jan Meyer, Kaye Monk-Morgan, Steve Shaad, Collin Stieben, Trish Brasted and the proud Shocker who will be our next association president, Dan Unruh. A sincere thank you to each and every member of our Shocker community for making this and every day …

A great day to be a Shocker!
