B.A.T. Party
On April 29, some 250 Shockers came out to the east side of Eck Stadium for a B.A.T. (Baseball Alumni Tailgate) Party. Party-goers enjoyed barbecue and drinks before watching WSU take on K-State. Faces in the crowd included Hank Farha ’51, Charlie Claycomb ’71/91, Bill Butterworth ’64, Kim Hartwell ’78 and Becky Ediger ’76/83.
Business Gathering
Piztros at the Waterfront was the site for a May 9 MBA Meet & Greet event, open to MBA students and graduates. Attendees included Esther Delurgio ’74/79, Debra Schwemmer ’97, Angela Dudley ’98/05 and Alec Subero.
Nursing Honors
Kathy Winslow ’04, nursing society president, welcomed attendees to the 18th annual society meeting on May 2. Peter Cohen, WSU College of Health Professions dean, introduced board members and special guests, while Juanita Tate, nursing chair, gave a school update. Awards were presented to these honorees: Distinguished Nursing Alumnus, Michael Goodwin ’73/76/80; Distinguished Nursing Honorary Alumnus, Carolyn Weber ’87; Graduate Student, Jennifer Bebermeyer; Undergraduate Student, Stephanie Loewen; Exemplar Service, Tate.
Rise & Shine: Marilyn Pauly
Shockers gathered April 25 at the Marcus Welcome Center to wind up the 2007-08 WSU Distinguished Alumni Speaker Breakfast Series by sharing memories — and laughs — with Commerce Bank vice chairman Marilyn Pauly ’72. Attendees included Shirley and Don Beggs, Mickey ’45 and Pete ’42 Armstrong, John Rolfe ’85 and Delinda Royse ’04.
Senior Breakfast
Some 300 students and 50 table hosts filled the RSC Ballroom April 15 for the ninth annual WSU Senior Breakfast honoring 2008 graduates. Jennifer Parker ’03 of Capitol Federal Savings, event sponsor, was among the speakers. Attendees included members of the Kansas Board of Regents, as well as Ron Holt ’77, Dave Dahl ’71/74, Joe Kisner ’81, Spike Anderson ’93/95 and Molly McMillin ’94.
