After years of going to class, writing papers and taking exams, 170 graduating seniors were toasted for their academic efforts at the 3rd Annual Senior Luncheon, sponsored by Capitol Federal.
The celebration, held Nov. 11 in the Rhatigan Student Center Ballroom, also attracted about 30 alumni and university table hosts.
Students were welcomed by WSU Alumni Association President Dan Unruh '86 and heard remarks from WSU President Don Beggs and WSU Alumni Association Executive Director Debbie Kennedy '94.
Senior engineering student Ana Lazarin shared a moving account of her experiences on the way to a college degree.
Lazarin, who is from Ulysses, Kan., and the first in her family to graduate from college, works to help others as director of Programs to Broaden Participation in Engineering.
