WICHITA STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI MAGAZINE
Fall 2003

Director's Corner

BY BRAD BEETS ’87

Are you a member? That is a valid question for an alumni director to ask you. Even if you are reading this issue of The Shocker, you may not be a member of the WSU Alumni Association. Each year, the fall issue of our university alumni magazine is mailed to all alumni of Wichita State University — to connect with you once a year and update you on what is happening at your university.

Dues-paying members of the alumni association receive all three issues of The Shocker during the year and have an even better connection with their alma mater. In addition, association members receive invitations to more than 15 events hosted by the association each year. Members also have the privilege of using the Heskett Center, the university’s recreational and fitness facility, and can purchase their favorite Shocker merchandise at the University Bookstore at a 15 percent discount.

Plus association members can take pride in knowing they are supporting key programming sponsored by the alumni association — which is the oldest and largest organization with the mission of supporting higher education at Wichita State.

If you receive only one issue of The Shocker each year, I invite you to join the 6,000-plus alumni and friends who are always connected with WSU through their association membership. Give us a call at 1-888-316-2586 or visit on-line at www.wichita.edu/alumni. Join the Shocker Family — today!
