Omaha
Shocker Nation Cheers
Shockers from all over the country came together March 22 for a Shocker Pep Rally at the Doubletree by Hilton Downtown Omaha – Wichita State's team hotel during the second and third rounds of the NCAA tournament. The Shockers had dispatched the Indiana Hoosiers in second-round action and were set to take on the University of Kansas at the CenturyLink Center about two hours after the 2 p.m. pep rally got underway. Introduced by Courtney M. Marshall of the WSUAA, Dave Dahl '71/74, in town as a basketball color commentator with the Shockers' radio broadcast crew, told the cheering crowd his keys to the upcoming game, one of which was: “We're going to win because we have the best fans in the country.” Dahl called it right. The Shockers walked over the Jayhawks, 78-65.
