Saturday, April 27 – Wichita State Night at the K, Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo. Join fellow Shocker fans to watch the Kansas City Royals take on the Los Angeles Angels in a 6:15 p.m. contest. Fans can receive a Shocker-themed KC bucket hat with the purchase of a theme ticket for the game at kcroyals.com. Baseball Alumni Tailgate Party
Wednesday, April 10 – Baseball Alumni Tailgate Party, Eck Stadium. Come join the WSUAA for our annual family-friendly tailgate party on the Coleman Hill outfield pavilion prior to the Shockers’ game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The BAT Party starts at 6 p.m. with first pitch at 7. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy food, beverages and hanging out with fellow Shockers. For details: shockeralumni.org.
Congrats, Class of 1969
This spring marks the 50th anniversary of the Class of 1969’s graduation from Wichita State, and the WSUAA invites all class members, as well as the members of WSU’s Fifty-Year Club, to celebrate this milestone together.
Monday, April 15; 8-10:30AM – Meet & Greet Reception followed by a Riding Tour of Campus with Host Dr. James Rhatigan, Woodman Alumni Center.
Monday, April 15; 11:30AM-1PM – Fifty-Year Club Class of 1969 Induction Luncheon & Reunion, Marcus Welcome Center. During the event, special remarks will be given, and Class of 1969 attendees will be introduced and presented commemorative medallions. Details: tate.blanton@wichita.edu.
WSU Alumni Awards
In 1955, the WSUAA presented its first alumni award, the Achievement Award, to Lincoln LaPaz ’20, a noted astronomer. The tradition continues.
