CaddyShock IV — this year’s WSU Alumni Association-sponsored golf tournament, The Shocker Open — turned out to be a true Cinderella story.

Featuring 33 teams, the April 29 tournament was successful in its effort to raise money for the alumni association in its mission to support higher education at Wichita State.

Wichita’s Willowbend Golf Club provided the location for tournament play on a beautiful Thursday afternoon, and coming out on top with the best score at the end of the competition was a foursome comprised of Eric Fahnestock, Jason Boles, Rob Jacob, and Darin Weidenheimer fs ’89.

These Shocker Open sponsors contributed to the event’s success: Western Uniform and Towel Service Inc., Community Bank of Wichita, Fox and Hound Pub & Grille, Digital Office Systems, Bank of America, House of Schwan, Pepsi Bottling Group of Wichita, Intrust Bank, Fahnestock Heating, A/C & Electric, Financial Planning Concepts, Scholfield Auto Plaza, Kim Dwerlkotte Interior Design, Classic Real Estate, Feist Publications, Southwest National Bank, Pinnacle Construction, Cochran Mortuary, McKinney’s First Street Automotive, Howard’s Optical, Patterson Dental, Edward M. Plopa & Associates, Legacy Bank, Sammy & Jacque Kouri, Stillwater National Bank, Pizza Hut and The Golf Warehouse.

Director's Corner

We should show the pride we feel as Shockers to everyone we come in contact with — to proudly announce: "I Am Wichita State!"

President's Corner

Vision, by definition, means “a mental image produced by the imagination.” In the past several months, I have found that the imaginations of Wichita State University alumni, WSU Alumni Association staff and WSU faculty and staff are vivid and full of passion for Wichita State.
